Three things to enter. The award does the rest.

  1. Pick your award

Choose your award, your level and whether you’re casual, part-time or full-time. We’ll ask about enterprise agreements first, because they change everything.

  2. Log each shift

Start, finish, breaks, and what your payslip paid. Paste a roster and ShiftOwed drafts the shifts for you to check.

  3. See owed against paid

Every shift split at midnight and priced line by line, with the clause beside it, and a running tally across every week you log.

Before you start

Is ShiftOwed part of Fair Work?

No. ShiftOwed is independent. It uses the minimum rates published in each modern award and cites the clause for every line, so you can check it yourself. If we ever disagree with the award, the award wins.

Will my boss find out?

No. Your log is private to you. Nothing is sent to your employer unless you share your summary yourself.

Does my visa change what I should be paid?

No. Award minimums apply to everyone working in Australia, including student and working-holiday visa holders.

Is this legal advice?

No. It’s general information that works out award minimums from what you enter. For help with a dispute, contact the Fair Work Ombudsman on 13 13 94 or your union.

All questions, and where the rates come from

Every line cites its award clause

These are the Level 1 casual rules ShiftOwed checks your shifts against, from 1 July 2026. Swipe through the six awards it covers.

Public holidays come from each state’s calendar, so Melbourne Cup counts in Victoria and not in Sydney. Midnight splits, weekend rates and casual loading are done for you, priced at the rates in force on each shift’s date.
